What is a student visa?

Before you can consider coming to Spain to study, you must have been admitted to an officially accredited public or private educational institution! Then, depending on your country of origin and the length of your stay, you will have to apply for a student visa.

In fact, if you are staying for more than 3 months, you must have this document, which is essential for your first steps in settling in. This visa will be your pass to enter the Spanish territory and your key to justify your situation to the Spanish administrations!

It will allow you to obtain the famous NIE or TIE, essential to your daily life!

How to obtain your visa?

The first step to obtain your visa is to go to the Spanish embassy of your place of residence. After receiving your letter of acceptance from an officially recognized Spanish institution and with the appropriate documents for your situation, you will have to go to the Consulate of your place of residence (by appointment) and you will obtain your visa.

The supporting documents needed to validate your application will depend on your particular circumstances and your project. Bonjour-Barcelona makes sure that you go to your appointment with all the necessary documents and that you leave with your visa in hand!

What happens next?

The second step to settle in Spain is to deal with the Spanish administrations. It is not always easy to find your way through the Spanish bureaucracy. But here again, we are there for you!

We prepare all the documents, make appointments and provide checklists so that you can pay the taxes and submit complete applications. Depending on whether you are an EU citizen or not, once you stay longer than 90 days, you will need an NIE or a TIE.

Read our article on the subject to understand why this document is the first and most essential of all!
