TIE Collection in Barcelona: Appointment Now Mandatory at Calle Mallorca Police Station
If you are an expat in Barcelona waiting to collect your TIE (Tarjeta de Identidad de Extranjero), there is an important change you need to be aware of.
👉 From January 2nd, booking an appointment is now mandatory to collect your TIE at the Policía Nacional.
Walk-ins are no longer accepted, even if you were told otherwise in the past.
Where Do You Collect Your TIE in Barcelona?
TIE cards are collected at the National Police station located at:
📍 Carrer de Mallorca, 213, Eixample, 08008 Barcelona
This is the main police station handling TIE card collection in Barcelona, and the new appointment requirement applies specifically to this location.
When Can You Collect Your TIE?
You can collect your TIE 30 days after your fingerprint appointment (toma de huellas).
⚠️ However, appointment slots are extremely limited, and they are being booked very quickly.
That’s why it’s essential to plan ahead and secure your appointment as soon as you become eligible.
Appointments Are Flying – Don’t Wait Until the Last Minute
Since walk-ins are no longer allowed:
Missing an appointment means delays
Finding last-minute availability is difficult
Your TIE may be ready, but you won’t be able to collect it without a booking
To avoid unnecessary stress, we strongly recommend booking your TIE collection appointment early.
