Did you recently arrive in Spain and the only thing you are thinking about is how to get your TIE rapidly?
We’ve got you covered!
- The first step of this tedious process is to get your empadronamiento. This document is issued by the city hall and is used as a proof of address.
- Once your empadronamiento secured, you will need to book an appointment at the police station of your choice and choose the option “Toma de Huellas”.
You will need to go to this appointment with a list of documents varying depending on the police station picked. The most frequently requested documents being your empadronamiento (of less than 3 months), your original passport and a full copy of it (yes even the blank pages), the EX17 form, the 790012 tax form and the proof of payment of the tax and a passport picture.
During the appointment, the police will hand you a “Resguardo” which is a document proving that you went to your TIE appointment. This document contains the batch number of your TIE (“numero de lote”) and will tell you when to collect your TIE.
- Thanks to the kindness of some people, there is a website on which you can track the process of your TIE card in Barcelona. You can consult it here: https://www.lotenie.com/
- Once your TIE is ready, you will have to book an appointment according to the instructions on the resguardo document and go there with your passport to collect your card.
